Micromobility, laws, sidewalks and Cambridge

As things that are ‘not quite’ bikes but are certainly not cars grow in number and abilities, understanding where they can safely and efficiently mesh with our urban fiber and transportation systems is crucial. We need new laws, new infrastructure, maybe new insurance programs, new….

And we also have to protect old expectations of being able to safely walk on the sidewalk without getting knocked over by a scooter, of being able to use a powered wheelchair with all the rights of a pedestrian, of being able to ride a bicycle without worrying that electric-powered vehicles are adding such chaos to the bike space as to make biking even more dangerous than it already is.
