these rocks be moved or replaced with bollards, which are more

earn about wifi. We just started a project to develop a wifi
feasibility study. The study will
validate what we have learned in the beta and help us decide on a model for
deployment. In other words the
"what" and "how" to deploy. Later this year we plan to issue an RFI (request for information). The responses from vendors will then be considered for a wifi deployment strategy. Wifi is in the early stages of development and we still have not seen a "best practices" model. Therefore we are not expanding our deployment beyond public meeting places like the libraries and Newtowne Court. |

I am currently sitting in my office with an icepack on my shoulder, which I injured during the wipe-out. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I've tripped on one of the many sidewalks in-need-of-repair in Cambridge. But last night's fall was the worse by far. I can't help but think that several of my neighbors have had similar experiences --- kids on bikes or scooters, parents with baby strollers, older folks walking into the Square. This may sound overly severe, but the state of these sidewalks is a serious health hazard. I was lucky - I could have broken an ankle, or a wrist, or worse. I suppose I could have run in the street, which is a much smoother surface, but then I would have had to battle with bike and vehicle traffic. I am curious to know: (1) is there a plan to repair Kirkland St sidewalk, and if so, when?; and (2) if there is not a plan to repair the sidewalk on Kirkland St, why not?" |
